Our story so far
Every bottle of Mayne Blanc carries a little history. From a Roman who planted the first vine to monks, cellar builders and a winemaker who likes to try new things, many hands have shaped this corner of Lussac-Saint-Émilion. Here are a few of the moments that brought us to the glass in front of you.

Roman times · The First Vine
A Roman named Lucius plants the first vines in Lussac. Little did he know what he was starting.
13th century · The Monks Step In
Benedictine monks rebuild the vineyards, and word of the wine travels all the way to England.
1961 · Going Underground
A new owner digs deep, literally. Underground cellars are built, the finest oak barrels arrive, and Mayne Blanc starts making a name for itself.
2014 · A New Chapter
A new owner arrives, with the same ambition to keep raising the bar and a few fresh ideas of his own.
2014 · A New Chapter
A new owner arrives with big ambitions and an appetite for fresh ideas. With Ludo in the cellar, Mayne Blanc becomes the place to experiment, from new barrels and methods to Zéro, our alcohol-free wine, and a white made from Merlot. Tradition stays, but now it has company.
2023 · World’s Best Wine
Our Cuvée Spéciale 2018 wins Grand Gold and is named World’s Best Wine at the Frankfurt International Trophy. Read on for the full story.
